The Jets had a pretty quiet draft picking up DE Vernon Gholston with the 6th overall pick in the NFL Draft. While I don’t expect any fireworks this year I think the Jets have a mediocre season. By adding Eric Ainge into the mix they now will have a quarterback triangle where I’m assuming Kellen Clemons will start the year and perhaps Ainge could finish it as Pennington gets plugged in there behind center from time to time. I’m very excited about the Jets back up running back Leon Washington who I’m assuming will get a lot more playing time this season. The “Mangenius” lost some of his IQ points in my book last year letting Thomas Jones rush more than 4 times Washington despite Washington averaging 5 yards per carry compared to Jones meager 3.6. I don’t expect them to bench Jones altogether but I’d love to see at least a 50/50 split in future carries.
