Fantasy Football Philadelphia Eagles

Brian Westbrook continues to be a fantasy stud rushing on the ground and also picking up a ton of receiving yards from the back field.  Despite a long history of injuries, Westbrook continues to prove me wrong as I have passed him over in more than a few drafts over the years.  If he’s available at the right spot it will be very hard for me to pass on him yet again as last year he surpassed 2,000 total yards and 12 touchdowns.  Not too bad.

Unfortunately, after Westbrook the Philadelphia Eagles are a crap shoot when it comes to their fantasy players.  Former Mount Carmel High School star Donovan McNabb had a nice year last season however by no means is he a top tier quarterback and he has had injury issues in the past and definitely does not have the youthful wheels he had back when he was hooking up with TO for touchdowns.  As usually the Eagles receivers are inconsistent in the games, let alone in fantasy scoring.  Kevin Curtis now leads this group of unknown receivers (although Westbrook actually leads them in receptions).  Even the Eagles defense which I got late in many drafts last year and thought was a steal disappointed last season.  While they have lost some key free agents, they have also picked up some nice free agents like Pat’s cover corner Asante Samuel, so I might gamble again on this Eagles D if its available very late.  I think the only sure thing with these Eagles next season is that one of Andy Reid’s children will make some headlines as another one of their criminal plots is revealed and perhaps more jail time given out.
