I’d like to thank everyone who entered into the contest. Fullwrap is very excited about this year’s NFL Playoffs and are also very excited for the NFL Season’s to come. Good luck to everyone. If you missed the deadling for the showdown, look to next Monday as there will be a new weekly $5.00 prize contest.
First I will announce my picks for the weekend. My picks of course do not count towards the contest as I am not elgible to win.
Joe Gibb’s Last Stand
The Redskins take this game with a last minute field goal. Skins 20, Seahawks 17
Whether its Joe Gibbs being inspirational or Sean Taylor pushing his teamates I believe the Skins will continue with their momentum and defeat the Seahawks in Seattle. Gibbs has a 74% win pct. in the playoffs and despite some very non-Hall of Fame moments he is still a great coach. Seattle has a better record than what their team has performed. The Skins D will step up as they have the last 4 games (13 ppg) and Mark Rypein…I mean Todd Collins will have another solid game. The Seahawks don’t have a terrible game but are unable to score enough to win in the end.
Jags Hope To Steel Another One Out Of Pittsburgh
The Jaquars defeated The Steelers 29-22 in Pittsburgh Week 15. This was the only loss Pittsburgh had at home all year. The field should be in much better condition than Week 15 which actually should help the Steelers who on this strange instance don’t have the better running game. The Steelers tough run defense shows up this game (3rd in the NFL) and stops Taylor/Drew in their tracks. Roethlisberger has to throw to win in but Pitt takes the lead in the 4th quarter and the defense handles the rest. Steelers 24, Jaguars 20
Buccaneers of the Caribbean– At Tom Coughlin’s End
Bucs 24, Giants 13 Jeff Garcia has the history of being the Giant killer in the past in the playoffs. Eli also has the history of being less than Peyton-like in the playoffs. I think this is a tough dogfight until the 4th quarter where the Bucs well rested unit breaks through as Coughlin’s vets who should have had some rest week 17 didn’t and will feel it in the 4th. This loss should cost Coughlin his job so it is a silver lined loss for most New York Giants fans.
Remember The Week 14 Titans
I needed it for the title but unfortunate for the Titans this game won’t be near as close. If Young plays he won’t be as effective with his quad acting up again. Kerry Collins doesn’t have what it takes to beat the surging Chargers defense. The Chargers at home this time, rolls over the Titans. Chargers 38, Titans 16
I was a little surprised we did not get more entries as I know there was plenty of advertising of this contest and a great many page views. I truly think there are so many internet scams that many people did not even bother. The good news is there are only 5 entrants to the grand prize meaning each of you has a 20% chance of winning which is probably the best odds anyone will get on the NFL Playoffs. Good luck to all and have fun watching the games. I have a feeling this weekend is going to be extremely exciting.
